Cats are Weird: Staring at the Wall

Sometimes when I go into a dark room, I discover Isabelle sitting there, her face a half an inch from the wall, just staring.  This is not "She's a cat and was watching lint" staring, but the "Um, did I just walk in on the Kitty Witch Project?" kind of staring.

Does anybody else have a cat that does this?

  2. I think animals can see ghosts, so she is probably just making some new spooky friends ;)

    1. Well, she does always do it in the same spot . . . and it would be so like her to have a whole clique of ghosty friends.

    1. Thanks, Kate! I do think most animals just KNOW. I was once at some kind of tupperware-type party and the hostess' dog was known for not being comfortable or very friendly with people. Said dog entered the room, looked around and walked right up to me and climbed up on my lap like he was a baby and stayed there the entire time. lol They must know something.

  4. our cat doesn't do that (who knows!) but I agree I think cats can see ghosts I have had many cats as a kid and older and there has been times when they hiss and get all protective and it looks like they are threatening thin air. Something there though...

    1. Isabelle didn't really start doing this until we moved into this apartment, so who knows? I have no doubt cats can see stuff we can't.

  5. My cats don't do creepy things (no offense to Isabelle) they do bitchy, vile things... Like pee on my leather couch. And my boyfriends desk chair. Even though we have 2 litter boxes that are cleaned regularly and they have access to going outside when ever they want. Love is...

On a non sarcastic note, I think animals are more sensitive to energy (ghosts/ spirits what ever you want to call it) then we are.

    1. Oh no! I think I'll take the creepy over the vile any day! I don't know what she's doing - she could be meditating and finding her "kitty center" for all I know, but I do definitely believe animals see more "energy" and stuff than we do.

Cracking up at the thought of your cat finding her inner kitty.. :) Mine must be rebelling against the man.

  6. My cats do things like this!!! They will stare and stare until I go to see what they are staring at, then they walk away. My husband says it's their plot to make me go crazy.

    1. Maybe they're just trying to get our attention back onto them by acting like freaks?

  7. My cats stare at the ceiling right above my head with these horrified looks on their faces. I always figured maybe they could hear mice running around in the rafters or something but after reading this I'm pretty convinced my house is haunted.

    Ghost mice, maybe?
